I’m Nick, the owner of Physio For Surgery, and I worked in the industry for 6 years before opening my own clinic. I have worked in an OHIP-run clinic and a sports medicine clinic and I have seen what kind of care was out there. I was fortunate enough to work in professional sports and saw the access to equipment that these athletes had that really helped to accelerate their recovery.
As a result, I decided I wanted to offer the same top quality care and equipment to my clientele so I went out and bought all of that equipment and put it in one space, my clinic, Physio For Surgery.
If you, or someone you know, has been stuck to a walker, cane or wheelchair with no hope, I am here to offer you a RISK FREE SOLUTION.
Now, you may have already tried physio and didn’t get as far as you would have liked, so you might be asking, how are we any different? At Physio For Surgery we have cutting edge technology that can help regain your mobility to live independently again without the need to continuously rely on others.
How do we do that you ask?
Our state of the art Antigravity Treadmill. NASA initially developed the Anti Gravity Treadmill to help astronauts avoid the inevitable loss of muscle and bone mass when they are in space in a ‘microgravity” environment.
The Anti-Gravity Treadmill uses air pressure to help “lift you up”. Specific shorts are provided for you and worn over the top of your clothes. You step inside the middle of the treadmill (similar to a large bubble) and are zipped inside. This allows the lower body to be enclosed and supported by the air pressure. Once the treadmill has been calibrated to the individual, the amount of pressure (how much weight we will take away) will then be applied.
The treadmill can take the patient all the way down to 20% of their body weight. To put that in perspective, if a patient weighs 200 pounds, the treadmill can make their weight (on their legs) feel as little as 40 pounds. For someone who struggles to walk, this can be revolutionary.
As you, or someone you know, may have become less mobile, that only makes the problem worse; now they start to lose muscle and are even weaker which makes it even harder for them to walk (and less motivated and willing to try).
With this treadmill, they will be able to regain their ability to walk, muscle strength and, most importantly, they will regain their confidence!
From there we will add more weight (by adjusting the treadmill, say, from 20% to 30% of their body weight) which will help you or someone you love build more muscle and eventually be able to walk again ALL BY THEMSELVES.
You may be saying this is great but what happens when I get out of the treadmill? How does this actually help? Well, the answer is that you
will be somewhat tired after using your muscles in this way and you will probably need to take a nap after because you are using muscles you haven’t used for awhile. HOWEVER, over time as we add more weight, we will get you up to 100% of body weight on the treadmill.
It takes time and consistency to build this strength, just like working out, but with the proper plan of care and accountability (by yours truly), you will be able to improve and regain your mobility.
Think of how much this can add to you or your loved ones’ life?
What would happen if this could improve your life?
