Introducing Nick Halkidis At Physio For Surgery

Nicholas Halkidis is the founder of Physio For Surgery.

Nick Halkidis

Athletic Therapist

Nick is an Athletic Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Medical Acupuncturist. He has worked with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Team Canada Rugby, and Team Canada Baseball’s Junior National Team.

Nick has extensive experience treating high-performance athletes with pioneering hands-on techniques and state-of-the-art equipment through his work with Baseball Canada and other sporting teams. But after six years working in Sports Medicine, Nick decided to move into private patient care to bring those same techniques and high-tech physiotherapy equipment to the weekend warriors, amateur athletes, and self-confessed couch potatoes in the GTA – because that’s where he can make the most significant difference.

Nick has experienced injury himself, so he knows how it feels. Sports stars and professional athletes already have access to all the space-age equipment they need before and after surgery. But until now, you and I (the man and woman on the street) had to settle for the physiotherapy version of an analogue phone. As a result, we were laid up for at least six weeks – not bearing any weight. Followed by an equally frustrating period of manual therapy sessions and barely effective therapeutic exercises lay ahead before we were anywhere near our pre-surgery fitness. Nick's mission with all his patients is to cut that time in half (at least). To do this, he uses equipment like the Anti-Gravity Treadmill that allows you to exercise and work on your recovery well before standard protocols allow.

If other physios are the old Blackberry, Nick is the physiotherapy version of an iPhone. There is no comparison

He doesn't just work with pre-and post-surgical patients, either. Whoever you are and whatever you do: pain sucks. But lots of it is preventable and treatable, so don't put up with it – give Nick a call. Whatever your issue, we guarantee that Nick can help you get you out of pain and back to fitness faster than any other physiotherapist in the GTA.

In his free time, Nick loves walking his puppy Valentino, playing golf, watching football, and seeing the world with his fiancé.
