...Without The Use of Pills, Injections or Surgery

  • Do you feel like an ancient relic when you get out of bed in the morning?
  • Does your spine sound like LEGO clicking together when you stand up?
  • Are you in daily pain and worried you might need surgery?

Well, guess what?

It won't magically get better if you ignore it.

Rest is not best.

In fact, if low back pain causes you to struggle to pick clothes up off the floor, run to catch the kids or hurts when you carry groceries, please book a consult with one of our physios right away to prevent things getting worse – because if you regularly “tough it out” it, you could be doing permanent damage.

Plus, how much life are you missing out on because you’re always in pain?

If that sounds like you, you’re not the only one – we see patients who have been stoically (or stupidly; however you want to look at it) putting up with chronic daily pain all the time. In fact, Lower Back Pain is one of the most common issues we treat in our physiotherapy clinic in Markham, Ontario.

(So, don't leave it to your chance. Because worst-case scenario, you could end up needing spinal surgery or develop a long-term disability and lose your independence altogether).

When it comes to lower back pain, the first things patients ask us is:

“Why Me?”...

or

“Why Is My Lower Back Still Hurting When I’ve Been Resting For At Least 6 Months?”

We just expect our bodies to fix things, don’t we?

Like magic, we want to wake up one morning and feel like we did before the pain started… But months later, you're still in pain – feeling even stiffer and more uncomfortable than when it started, right?

Does This Sound Like You?

So many patients who come to see us with low back pain say,

"I saw my doctor when the pain started. They told me it was old age/growing pains/overuse. They said I should stop what I was doing and take prescription anti-inflammatories and go back in three weeks if I was still in pain”.

They sit at home, “resting” on doctor’s orders – not moving and not exercising.

But nothing changes, of course – and they're back in the doctor's office three weeks later with a few more pounds added to the "Molson Muscle."

Think about it this way…

If you had a bike and the chain that connects the pedals to the gears falls off. But everything else seems okay – the bell works, there’s air in the tires, spokes are straight, and the handlebars are secure.

What happens when you try to spin the pedals?

The tires won’t turn, eh?

Now, imagine I tell you to take your bike and REST it for three weeks.

You spray the gears with WD40 (painkillers) every day.

Then you try the pedals again in three weeks.

What's changed?

Correct – absolutely NOTHING.

You didn't fix the problem.

The chain in your body needs attention.

No amount of rest, painkillers, or other pain-masking methods is going to fix it.

We help you fix it for good, naturally – without pills, injections, or surgery.

If you haven’t studied anatomy and physiology and how the musculoskeletal system works, back pain is confusing because there are many potential causes, from strains, sprains and structural problems to injuries, medical conditions and bulging discs. But whatever the reason, believing that you must endure it as part of life or a natural part of getting older, categorically isn’t true. Not on our watch, anyway.

If You Are Living With Pain, Here’s The Top 7 Reasons Why Lower Back Pain Is Lasting Longer Than It Should:

  • You thought it would go away on it’s own - but it didn’t
  • The doctor gave you prehistoric advice to rest and take painkillers – except the pills made you feel sick, and the pain came back as soon as the drugs wore off.
  • Well-meaning (but misguided) friends and relatives told you they’ve all got back pain too, so you should just accept it.
  • You tried a hypnotist, a herbalist, an energy healer and anyone else willing to take your money, but nothing helped.
  • You tried curing yourself with YouTube videos, fancy foam rollers and back stretching routines, but they either didn't help or made your pain a million times worse.
  • You swore yourself off all forms of exercise and movement and watched TV for three straight weeks. It seemed like a good idea to rest. But all that did was make your back muscles even stiffer and bending even more painful.
  • You tried a relaxing spa massage to try and escape from the pain. It worked for a while, but the pain returned within a couple of days.

Some of these are tongue in cheek. We speak from many years of experience treating patients who are desperate to fix their back pain. But we also know that lower back pain is no laughing matter. It’s miserable. That’s why we’re so passionate about it – and we’re seriously good at what we do.

You don’t have to put up with lower back pain – we would love to help you get rid of it for good. All you need to do to get started is book a free appointment with one of our physiotherapists. You can choose to do this via the telephone or a Discovery Visit at our clinic in Markham, Ontario. But, again, there is no obligation to commit to treatment – it's just an opportunity for you to find out how we can help and decide whether we're the right fit for you.

How does that sound?

Are you ready to get out of pain?

Click the link below to book your complimentary appointment to get some straight-talking advice on what's wrong with your lower back and how we can help you fix it fast.

What Can I do to Get Rid of My Back Pain Quickly?...

Well, here are our top tips:

  • The first one is a no-brainer; Decide to get help. Don’t procrastinate any longer. If you’ve had low back pain for a while, it most likely won't get better with time. Instead, you'll be another six months older and still in pain – potentially with permanent damage that you can't fix with physiotherapy alone. So commit to doing something about it before things get even worse.
  • Exercising at home won't find or treat the root cause of your low back pain. But it can improve the symptoms and reduce stiffness if you do the right exercises and perform them correctly. But it's essential to have these exercises prescribed and demonstrated for you by a physiotherapist to avoid movements that could exacerbate the situation or cause further injury.
  • Get up and move around – the worst thing you can do for low back pain is to spend too much time stuck in one stationary position, like sitting at a desk or lying down. This lack of movement causes the back muscles to stiffen and tighten up, making the pain worse. So, try and get up and move around regularly – even if it's just a short walk around your home or office. But if you can manage it, a 30-minute, gentle walk outdoors is even better.
  • Get “in-person” Physiotherapy – Nothing beats professional physiotherapy for lower back pain. At PHYSIO FOR SURGERY, it's one of the most common complaints we treat. So we can find the root cause quickly and get you back to work, in the gym or on the track, field or pitch and back enjoying time with your friends and family again as quickly as possible.

Nick is one of the best athletic therapists I've ever worked with. I've been seeing him for many years and he's helped me through countless major and minor injuries and guided me through rehab that allowed me to get back to my sport even stronger. The entire staff is super nice and welcoming as well. They are very organized with appointment times and reminders. I would 10/10 recommend Physio for Surgery!

I visited Nick for a shoulder injury that had been bugging me for months. Nick came highly recommended by my gym community and I can see why. Nick is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Clinic is neat and clean with some pretty cool equipment (hello hot/cold blanket machine that I look forward to at the end of each session!). He is organized and on time with appointments, no more than 5min wait before being called in - just enough time to change out of your shoes into the conveniently provided slippers! Under his care and with the strengthening exercises he prescribed, my shoulder has improved and continues to get stronger. Thanks for your help Nick!

I wouldn't recommend this place. The treatment plan was not so convincing and there was no progress of recovery after 2visit. I was in same shoulder pain of the 1st time, after spending $150(Intial Visit) and follow-up visit of $80 still all of nothing. I found another place which worked on a good price and also better treatment plan.

My daughter was seeing Nik for years prior to him opening his own physio and we followed him because he is excellent at what he does. He always seems to know just what needs to be done to get my daughter back up and running (literally). They also have some of the latest machines to help with recovery. My daughter likes the anti gravity treadmill so she can keep her emdurance up when she can't be on the track due to injury. The atmosphere at physio for Surgery is always a happy one. You are greeted with a smile upon entering and the smiles continue throughout the treatment. They always go above and beyond even offering ice cream and Popsicles on hot days lol.

I can't speak highly enough of my experience with Nick and Brandon and the team at Physio for Surgery. Over the past three months, they have been instrumental in helping me overcome my knee pain, retrain my walking technique, and identify an ACL/MCL/LCL tear with my limited range of motion.Nick and Brandon are true experts in their field. Their knowledge and expertise in addressing knee mobility issues are unparalleled. They took the time to thoroughly assess my condition, patiently explained the root causes of my pain, and tailored a treatment plan specifically for me. Their guidance and encouragement throughout the process have been invaluable.I am particularly impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Nick, Brandon, and Alexis have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure my comfort during each visit. Their caring demeanor make every appointment a pleasant experience. Additionally, booking and updating appointments with them is a breeze, thanks to Lexis and their organized system. If you're struggling with knee mobility issues, I wholeheartedly recommend seeking help from them. They are not only highly skilled professionals but also compassionate individuals who truly care about their patients' well-being. I am forever grateful for their expertise and the positive impact they have had on my ACL recovery.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the staff. From the moment I called to inquire till I was done my treatment, I got such a warm and genuine feeling of how they treat their patients/clients. The receptionist, Lexi, is super pleasant and sweet, and will always take the time to ask you about your day. She always greets you with a big smile and makes you feel super comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. The therapists, Brandon and Nick, are both wonderful and always have great banter going back and forth, which makes it a fun and light environment to be in.In terms of my experience with my treatment and recovery... I went to Nick with a swollen knee that came out of nowhere, without any real injury. It was very frustrating as no one was able to give me any answers or relieve my pain. I was told to take a cortisone injection as a possible solution but I really wanted to avoid that. That's when I came across "Physio for Surgery". Nick is very knowledgeable in his field, and was able to explain to me what was wrong with my knee right away (something that the orthopedic doctor, an x-ray, and an MRI couldn't help me with). This itself was a very BIG relief for me as I was dealing with pain and immobility for the past 2 months, not knowing the real reason behind my swollen knee. He was very honest with the plan that we were going to follow for my recovery and gave me realistic expectations. After the first session itself, I felt a difference in my mobility and pain. Which, if you know and have gone through any debilitating pain, is a BIG thing! I am now pain free and have my full mobility back. I am truly very grateful for how he has helped me recover through this, as it has allowed me to resume my regular day to day activities.Would highly recommend "PHYSIO FOR SURGEY" to everyone I know.
