How To Stop Knee Pain!

Knee Pain

Lately, I have seen an increase in patients calling and complaining of knee pain. So I had to do something about it (as I always do) This blog is written to HELP YOU PREVENT AND END KNEE PAIN.

If you are someone with knee pain, does this sound like you?

  • My knee cracks
  • My knee hurts every time I sit for long periods of time
  • I can’t workout without my knee hurting during or after
  • I don't know how it started
  • It has been months and I have tried both rest and pain killers and it doesn't seem to get any better
  • Ice,heat, and exercises on internet doesn't work either
  • Did google tell you it might be cancer?!?! (doesn't everything on google
    say that)
  • NOTHING WORKS!!!

Well I am here to tell you that there are natural solutions to your knee pain.

The most common causes of knee pain are:

  • Tight muscles
  • Weak or imbalanced muscles
  • Inflammation of the knee joint (caused by tight or weak muscles)

To put it simply, your muscles are designed to absorb and distribute forces. Take an exercise like squatting—your muscles take the load of the weight while you squat down and then they contract and push that weight up. If the muscles are too weak then that weight has to be distributed elsewhere such as, your knee joint, your knee ligament or your cartilage. These are all areas that can absorb weight but should not be used for this sole purpose.

If you have weak or tight muscles, your ligaments and joints are taking more weight than they were designed to. When this happens over time (squatting and lunging and running) eventually your ligaments and joints start to get inflamed because they can no longer take that load. When they get inflamed they cause pain and when they cause pain you can no longer do what you want them to.

This is the typical scenario of someone who comes in and says, “Nick I don't know how the pain started but it has just gotten worse and worse. I tried rest, painkillers, and I even had an ultrasound and x-ray done and it just showed fluid in my knee.” Well as you can see nothing is ‘wrong’ with your knee. There is no damage to show on an x-ray, all you would see is the inflammation (fluid). But if you rest your knees, that doesn't change the strength or tightness of your muscles, so nothing will change. If you take pain pills or use ice that only numbs the pain. You can start to see how these traditional methods will NEVER CHANGE THE ROOT CAUSE OF YOUR PAIN. You need to add strength and stretch certain muscles so they can start to absorb the forces put on your knee and no longer rely on your ligaments and joints any longer.
