*New Patient Offer!*

In Just a Few Weeks, Imagine Being PAIN FREE, Doing What You Want, Without Limitations

Most Importantly, Getting Back To Being You!

*Take Advantage of Our New Patient Offer!*

“It’s Time to Kiss Good-Bye to Your Injury, Put An End to LivingThrough the Pain

...AND, Get Your Freedom and Independence Back!

…Do What You Want, When You Want, For However Long YOU Want And, Best of All, Let Us Do All the Hard Work of Fixing Your Pain!

So Just What Do I Get During My Physiotherapy Assessment?

The assessment is an in depth look at your body. A professional and experienced physiotherapist will begin by asking you detailed questions about the nature of your injury and how it happened—not only to understand your injury but also to get to know you and your goals.

Our job is not to tell you what to do with your body; it is to help you optimize it so you can achieve your goals.

Your physiotherapist will perform a battery of tests and movements to determine the nature and extent of your injury, then explain exactly what’s going on in language you can understand. We always ensure you understand what’s happening with your body for two reasons:

  1. 1
It’s your body, and you deserve to know what’s happening.
  2. 2
If you understand why and how you got injured, you will also understand why your rehab plan of care and corrective exercises matter.

We don’t want you to leave without understanding why we recommended certain next steps or exercises.

This is how we empower our patients to take control of their injury and reclaim their bodies. Being injured—especially if it has been ongoing—can be frustrating because you don’t know who to trust or believe, and our job is to alleviate that uncertainty.

Your therapist will outline a detailed plan that includes:

  • What has gone wrong
  • Why it went wrong
  • How to fix it
  • How long it will take to fix it
  • How many sessions you will need
  • What you can do at home to help expedite the healing process

They will then move into treatment, which includes:

  • Hands on, manual therapy: Delivered for the full duration of your session.
  • Personalized Care: You will only be seen and treated by a Registered Physiotherapist; we do not use assistants or kinesiologists in our clinic.
  • Guided Exercises: Exercises are shown and taught by your therapist (and if you choose not to do them, that’s fine—we’re here to work with you).
  • Use of Equipment: Depending on your injury, after the hands on work is complete and your appointment time is over, we will move you to any and all equipment you might need.

We won’t use our equipment during your appointment time. Instead, we’ll utilize it after your session to be more efficient with our time and your money.

Our list of equipment includes:

  • Shockwave Therapy
  • Anti Gravity Treadmill
  • Game Ready Med 4 Elite (cryo and thermotherapy)
  • Ultrasound
  • Blood Flow Restriction Therapy
  • Acupuncture/Electro Acupuncture
  • Laser Therapy
  • Red Light Therapy
  • Cupping Therapy
  • Scraping
  • Interferential Current Therapy (often mistakenly called the “Dr. Ho machine”)

All of this is INCLUDED IN YOUR ASSESSMENT AND FOLLOW UP TREATMENTS AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU.

Nothing is more important.

Your health is worth the investment.

Imagine being able to go back on the golf course pain free and shooting your lowest score.

Actually get a good night's sleep!

Be able to go up and down stairs WITHOUT pain.

Shower, bathe and dress yourself.

Not being scared to sit down for too long.

Go for walks and not have to worry about how far or how hilly your path is.

Open a door without wincing.

Friends or family planning a trip or outing and being able to excitedly say yes.

Imagine having the freedom and independence to do what you want, when you want and how you want too.

Yes, this is a sales pitch! I want you to make the right decision for yourself and your body. When you have a product you know in your heart is helping so many people, wouldn’t you want more people to know about it?!

More About Owner Nick Halkidis & Why Physio For Surgery Exists

Nick Halkidis

Athletic Therapist

I got into working with patients after my injuries derailed me from my hockey career. I took an interest in the human body when I took an exercise physiology (now called kinesiology) course in grade 12. After taking that course I was accepted into the number one Kinesiology program in Canada (at the time) at York University where I went on to study Kinesiology and Athletic Therapy. In my final year at York I was awarded Student Athletic Therapist of the year, finishing at the top of my class.

In my final 2 months at York University I was accepted into Massage Therapy school at Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy where I received my degree in Massage Therapy. That same summer I wrote both of my national and provincial exams in Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy. I passed both and received my official licenses to start treating patients! That same winter I was accepted into the prestigious McMaster contemporary medical acupuncture program where I received my acupuncture credentials.

I started working as an Athletic Therapist for a chronic pain clinic in Newmarket. I also was lucky enough to work with the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Both have been great opportunities but I knew I wanted to work in private patient care full time. I then started working for a Sports Medicine clinic in Markham and stayed there for 5 years. Through those 5 years I gained invaluable experience and will be forever grateful for it. I have worked with Canada Baseball, traveling internationally with them for various competitions, most recently world championships in Korea but had to put that on pause when I opened the clinic and had my first kid. Most recently I traveled and worked at the 2024 Paris Olympics to support an athlete during the games.

I opened Physio For Surgery to bring cutting edge technology to you, that was once available only to professional athletes. Physio For Surgery does not just say we are cutting edge or evidence based, we live and breathe it every day. From the Anti Gravity treadmill, to Game Ready Met 4 Elite, Shockwave and even Blood Flow Restriction, there is not one piece of technology missing to help our patients recover as fast as the pro’s.

My passion is to help others. I truly love to have great conversations with my patients and get to know their issues. I went so far as to open my own clinic strictly to give patients the best care they deserve. I will listen to my patients, explain injuries in words they can understand and ensure that before you leave my doors you have every question answered and feel fully confident that you are in the right place. Physio For Surgery offers free Wi-Fi and coffee and filtered water with every appointment and even snacks if you ask the right people!

In my free time I love to walk my dogs Valentino and Oli, play golf, watch football and experience life and explore the world with my wife and son. I am a sports fanatic who loves the human body and I have been fortunate enough to meet and now work with so many like minded people.

When I first opened the clinic everyone said staff is the hardest part, and I agree it is. But when you find the right people like I have in my staff, it makes every bit of hard work and the blood, sweat and tears you put into work worth it. They are all amazing people as well as practitioners. You will see what I mean when you come into my clinic. It's easy for me to say, but once you are here, you and your body will be very happy you came in!

Alex took great care of me coming back from a broken finger injury.

Alex was very helpful in addressing my ankle injury. He identified my specific injury within minutes and built a great progression for improving my strength and healing that always felt on pace with where I was in my healing. He was so knowledgeable - I learned a lot about both my injury and general good practice for maintaining physical health.

After one physio treatment for my shoulder I felt so much better that I went back as soon as I could get an appointment. I was fortunate to get a cancellation. I feel confident that with the treatment and exercises that I’ve been given to do at home that I will soon be back to my usual self. Physio for Surgery was recommended to me by my granddaughter and I’m so happy she did.

Brandon was a huge help throughout my post-surgery recovery. When I first started physio, I was struggling with mobility and getting back to normal activities, but he guided me through every step of the rehab process with patience and encouragement. He always took the time to explain the exercises, work on strength and mobility, and make sure I was progressing safely. Thanks to his support and treatment plan, I’m now able to play volleyball again and even started trying a new sport - flag football. Brandon genuinely cares about his patients and wants them to recover properly, not just quickly. Really appreciate all the help and support during recovery!

I had a great experience working with Nick at Physio for Surgery. This clinic was highly recommended to me from friends and it measured up to those high standards in every aspect. I did my rehab for a high tibial osteotomy surgery with Nick and he helped me to experience a full recovery with no complications. In addition to the hands on therapy I received, I also made use of the anti-gravity treadmill, the cryo compression boot and the LED light at every session. Nick also designed me a full rehab plan with exercises to follow on my own and track in the app. I think all these tools combined really work well together to give patients the most comprehensive recovery.Thank you to all the staff at Physio for Surgery as well including Estelle whom really runs a well organized ship over there that functions like clockwork. Also Brandon, another therapist that helped me out for a session as well, who was also great. This is a solid spot you can count on for your recovery after most surgeries. After having a bad recovery in my past using cookie cutter, hospital physio, I know now to always do your recovery with the right team. Keep it up guys 💪🏼

"I would highly recommend [Chantal Lin] who treating me, after struggling with pain issues for months, Chantal has provided a thorough assessment and a tailored treatment plan that actually has been working/worked. Chantal is a fantastic listener and truly cares about patient well-being. She took the time to explain the 'why' behind every exercise, ensuring I understood my recovery process. Chantal’s calm, patient, and encouraging demeanor has made every session enjoyable. I felt completely supported throughout my rehab program. Chantal has great knowledge of human anatomy and dedication to finding the root cause of my injury was impressive.
